Lead Cloud Services Engineer

Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, this role will require deep technical knowledge of the Microsoft Cloud stack. The responsibilities include but are not limited to architecting and developing migration plans, creatively building solutions that are technically sound, performing engineering tasks for the delivery of solutions and migrations, developing documentation for the handoff to support, and serving as a point of escalation for Microsoft 365 related efforts. As a large portion of this role is client-facing, strong interpersonal skills are required. The qualified individual will possess superior customer service skills, the ability to multi-task effectively and lead multi-threaded project efforts, and the aptitude to work both independently and collaboratively while generating a high-quality work product. 

  • Play a central role in the delivery of secure and scalable Microsoft 365 cloud service solutions 
  • Handle complex long-term focused projects involving multiple disciplines and business units 
  • Provide direction for high priority and special projects undertaken by the company 
  • Recommend appropriate technological alternatives to clients and internal IT leadership 
  • Evaluate new technological developments and evolving business requirements 
  • Provide high-level specialized support and consultation to clients and internal IT leadership 
  • Lead client-facing discovery and scoping efforts 
  • Develop migration plans while considering the client’s timeline and requirements 
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation of changes and work performed 
  • Serve as a mentor to Cloud Service Engineers 
  • Troubleshoot on-prem and cloud configurations 
  • Serve as a point of escalation for the internal NOC team for Cloud Services related issues 
  • Suggest and implement ongoing framework development of the Cloud Services Department 
  • 2+ years of experience focused on Azure IaaS and the entirety of the Microsoft Cloud stack 
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience 
  • Preferred certifications: MS-100, MS-101, AZ-103 or 104 
  • Experience with Exchange OnlineTeams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Mobile Device Management and InTune, ADFS, and migrations or hybrid configurations for all of the above environments 
  • The ability to troubleshoot and remediate cloud-related issues for Windows XP/7/8/10, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019, Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010/2013/2016/2019 
  • Working knowledge of Networking and DNS principals involving the Microsoft Cloud Stack  
  • Ability to provide end-user desktop support of Microsoft Office 365 applications  
  • Hands-on experience with Migration planning and remediation 
  • Extensive experience deploying compute, networking and storage in Azure cloud 
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud networking topologies and diagnostics 
  • Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity 
  • Experience integrating on-premises servers to Azure 
  • Proven ability to be detail-oriented and manage time effectively 
  • High ownership quotient and ability to drive activities to completion in a timely manner 
  • Delivery experience managing day-to-day operations across multiple environments 
  • Proven success leading projects in a collaborative work environment
